Research, Choices, and Hydrogen: The PhD Beyond Academia – Interview with Lorenzo Bigiani

On May 27, 2025, a new BrainX event took place in collaboration with ART-ER S. cons. p. a., dedicated to all PhD students and researchers interested in exploring new professional horizons beyond academia.

We had the pleasure of speaking with Lorenzo Bigiani (PhD in Molecular Sciences, now Head of the Hydrogen Division at CEDEM), who shared his story of transitioning from academic research to industrial innovation. It was an open discussion about choices, skills, and opportunities, including unexpected challenges and new career perspectives.

After the interview, the event continued with a networking aperitif, creating an informal space for exchange among PhD students, researchers, and professionals from various disciplines. The questions and enthusiasm of the participants enriched the dialogue and confirmed the value of these moments of sharing.
